Lauren began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, where she prosecuted hundreds of domestic violence cases. She presented cases to the grand jury, handled felony arraignments, participated in felony homicide trials, and secured convictions through trials and plea negotiations. This experience gave her a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy, witness preparation, evidentiary analysis, case strategy, and persuasive oral advocacy—skills she now brings to litigating on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.

Lauren later joined the New York City Department of Education’s Special Education Unit, representing the nation’s largest public school district in special education matters. She litigated numerous impartial hearings, negotiated and finalized settlements, and advised DOE personnel on compliance with federal and state special education law. Her experience inside the DOE gave her a detailed understanding of how special education decisions are made, defended, and implemented.

In 2016, Lauren transitioned to representing parents of children with disabilities. Drawing on her experience as both a prosecutor and former DOE attorney, she approaches each case with a litigator’s discipline and a deep understanding of the special education system. She develops the evidentiary record, prepares witnesses, challenges inadequate evaluations and programs, and advocates for the services, placements, and remedies children need to make meaningful progress.

Lauren is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and the University of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
